Here is my proposed route...haven't heard from Mark (my brother)yet........but to give you some idea of mileage here it is...
Day 1 Friday = 290 miles (10 hours, based on 45 mph averaging) (Blackwater Falls)
Day 2 Saturday = 245 miles (8 hours, based on averaging 45 mph) (Jana and Dave's if they'll have us)
Day 3 Sunday = 115 miles
From my house (Eastern Shore) via Mark's to Blackwater Falls WV. is 287~ miles......(via Rt 50 our old way)
Thomas to Harmon (Jct Rt.33) is 35 miles (stop at Hendricks and take pictures)
Thomas to Swift Run Gap (Skyline Drive) is 135 miles (Stop at Seneca Rocks & take pics)
Thomas to Front Royal via Skyline Drive is 200 miles (65 miles on Skyline Drive) need some action pics here
Front Royal to Jana and Dave's (Leesburg Va.) = 45 miles
Jana and Dave's house to Marks = 70 miles.......
From Marks house to mine is another 45 miles.
All total my mileage will be ~ 650 miles....around $65.00 in gasoline (based on filling up @ 160 mile intervals) this should leave me with 50+ miles in reserve for each tank.
We'll take many pictures, and this trip is weather permitting....
