I had this happen while practicing on my new bike, and in a slow turn at that.

Also learned that just because the tank looks full when topping off does not mean it is full. I was 20 mils off on my trip meter before I ran out of gas in my main. I got to the station and filled up and then had to top off several times before it was actually full.
