On most bikes, getting more electrical output borders on impossible.

There is nothing magic about 5000 rpm. It's just a convenient place for a "standard" measurement.

A voltmeter would be a good idea.

My guess is that you need a switch on the lights so you can turn them OFF if needed......like when running other accessories.
