2000 gsxr600 crank case oil leak
hi all,
i'm about to buy a used '00 gixxer w/ very low mileage. upon inspection, i noticed that there was oil leaking (minor enough not to reach the floor, just the nut) from the crank case, which the owner did not even know. according to her, it was downed just once, but only while moving it around in their garage. everything looks fresh (stock) since it's always been garaged, w/ under 3.5k miles (for an 8-year old bike!) except for that mild leak/dent on the (left) crank case, and somehow dies on 1st gear if not careful enough w/ the clutch release. i couldn't see the extent of the leak unless she lets me take down the fairings, which i think she will let me.
what's the worst-case scenario if i decide to buy this bike afterall? how much would it cost to repair it so i could ask her to lower the price of the bike? do you think it's worth it if i end up replacing the whole engine/block? (by a pro shop of course, since i don't know how to) thanks in advance for all your input.
