I test rode a C90T a couple weeks ago and the same thing happened to me. The guy coordinating the convoy was shouting at me, put it in gear although it was. But the clutch lever had to go all the way out. Anyways I sort of handled the C90. It went upto 50 kph in the first gear easily!

I realized that the clutch lever was adjustable after the test ride

The C90 is a very powerful bike (at least for me).
