Saw a bike the other day, a Kawasaki, where the guy had made the rear rack as well as passenger floorboards that he had adapted so that they were an inch or so lower and a few inches forward of the normal rear pegs. A very neat job that you would almost swear were factroy made.
My brother-in-law was a machinist, now retired. A useful trade for sure.
Found this after market rack that is supposed to fit the OEM backrest:
Voyageur Stylized Chrome Luggage Rack for OEM Backrests, Volusia / C50, VL1500 / C90 - 03-272
It cost about the same as the Suzuki (US) and I think I like the OEM one better.
