I travel about 60 MPH all the time in my car. The majority of people pass me going at least 75 MPH. We're talking all kinds of vehicles. Americans need to slow down! I don't know about everywhere else. And yes, the commuters where I'm at will go all the way into DC which takes about an hour to an hour and a half one way. We turned all the railroads into bike paths a while back. BIG mistake. Public transportation is very minimal. I work from home during the day and have a second part-time job at night that I commute to, 26 miles round trip so, I'm feeling pretty fortunate right now even though I drive a diesel pickup (which I don't think I could get my money out of it these days if I wanted to trade it in or sell it.) The wife drives a Passat that gets 29-31 MPG...I think I'll take it for commuting.
