That sucks, the only bike I ever got that crappy of tire mileage out of was my Triumph Rocket 111, and with 140 ft pounds of torque, that didn't surprise me.
I'm not expecting good tire mileage with the DR 650, I only have 900 miles on it, and both tires are already showing wear, of course a bike that puts that big a smile on your face is doing things that doesn't promote high tire mileage.
