The manual says below 4K under 500 miles, then 6K to 1000 miles. I have 270 miles on it now, and have done just that, run it up to 12K for 10-15 seconds, then back down to below 4K several times. When I first got it, I brought it up to temp, then let it cool down several times. I am a believer in that process. Problem now is the weather is good, and I want to get out on the highway and run it up for a long distance on a trip, but am afraid to leave it at a high rpm for a long time until I get some more miles on it.
