I think that's a myth. The airbox controls the amount of air coming into the bike. Doesn't really matter how fast/freely it flows out. You're not changing your air/fuel mix until you change the amount of air flowing into the machine. As long as you've got that stock airbox and filter on there, you don't need to worry about a power commander (& etc.). It's only when you mess with the air coming in that you need to start worrying about burning up valves.
