For anyone who missed the link above after I edited it. Here is the route I will be running that way you guys get to tour Georgia and can have plenty to explore on Monday and the rest of your stay.
Google Maps
What this will do is the following. Nice easy start down 129 with some good clean bike familiarizing for a little while until we hit Old US-64 which starts the twists. Then we get a break until we get to Vogel State Park where we will run 180 over to Suches where T.W.O. is. Then we pick back up south to Porter Springs and over to Turner's Corner. We head back north to run the Blood Mountain run and then head over to Richard B. Russell Parkway hwy 348 south towards Helen.
Once we get back to 17 then we get some more pretty good twists climbing back up in the altitude towards Hiawassee. Shoot back over on 64 to Pick up Wayah Road and run that back over towards Robbinsville.
Total Distance: 213 miles and elapsed time: 6 hours + 30 mins fuel stop + 1 hour lunch = 8 hours
We will be able to make up time on the main highways and this route will be fun but not as tasking as the first Gatlinburg Trip where Rickster and everyone else all said they were tired of the curves.
I can get with you guys and show you some of the other roads to run for the other days if you like. I will bring my books that show rides for the area too.
So if we could plan on leaving out fueled and ready at 8:00 am then we should be back by 4:00 pm easy. But if everyone gets in town pretty late Saturday then we can bump the departure to 9:00 am. I'd like to run you guys down to Helen if we get the chance. If we are making good time then I can also add a little to it also.
But anyways. Check out the link and I hope you like.
