Congrats.
Here some reason's why the M50 is a such a good deal:
1. You get a lot of bike for the price.
2. They are great if you leave it stock. That's not just my opinion, but the opinion of just about every motorcycle magazine review of the M50 and comparisons of it with other middleweight cruisers. (It's seems funny to call it a middleweight cruiser. Two decades ago, my do-everything-so-dang-great Virago 535 was considered a middleweight cruiser!)
3. Because M50s are on the lower end of the price range, they free up more money for mods.
4. Because M50s are on the lower end of the price range, you're more likely to do mods if you want.
5. M50s have a distinct personality, whether it's stock or all the way to fully dressed.
6. The camaraderie among M50 owners appears to me to be 2nd to none. I have yet to come across a "my M50 is better than your M50" owner yet. Our bikes are either stock, personalized, customized or modded. Not better, just different and owners are ready to share what they did and how they did it for the benefit of other M50 owners.
7. Suzuki invented the 800cc cruiser and has supported it well.
