My daughter had a fit the other night cuz I won't allow her to drive, she is 16. She is very responsible and I am not too worried about her doing something stupid but I had to explain that gas is just too high to consider driving for pleasure at this time. We live on a bus line and an all you can ride pass is $33/mo. We have four bikes in the garage and 2 gazillion pairs of shoes in the hall closet. It's tough, she cannot relate to the cost of owning and driving a vehicle everyday.

We talked today about gas going to $3.69 and she didnt even bat an eye. "I can afford that" This is where Vinnie laughed hysterically.
