I ran Deals Gap a lot back in 1991-1994. Back then it was an empty but great condition road. You'd run it and see maybe a handful of bikes coming from the other direction. I've heard it's changed some since then. I read something about the big tree that was there and that they hang stuff from it now. Anyhow, I'm gonna try to make it up there this July.

Yeah there's a store, a tree, and a twisty road. But if you go on across you'll get to the Cherohala Skyway and have blast. The Dragon is a "must ride one time ride" but the Skyway is much better.
