 Indiana Driver's Test
My wife took her driver's test yesterday. She's been on a learner's permit for the past year. She was all nervous about it until we saw how easy it was. 1 left turn, 1 stop with your front wheel inside a 3x5-foot rectangle, an offset weave, a u-turn, a quick stop and a swerve-stop. All at low speeds in a parking lot. She passed easliy.
I watched about 20 people take the test, and many either missed the cones on the weave, or put a foot down at some point during the weave. Almost everyone that missed cones had their heads down looking at the closest cone, instead of keeping their heads up. The quick stops were pretty funny to watch. Lots of differences in how people stop. One rider apparently used his front brake only on the swerve-stop, and his bike almost fell completely over. It seems you can screw up on two of the maneuvers, and still pass the test. Only one person failed while I was watching. He couldn't do the weave at all, didn't make the u-turn inside 24 feet, and even had trouble with the quick-stops. It just seemed like he was on a bike that was way too physically big for his skill level.
