SV650 or new/used bandit
I'm a new motorcycle rider, and I recently bought a Boulevard C50 based on looks. But I'm finding (after just over 2000 miles) that the cruiser style just isn't really floating my boat. I love riding my bike and going on long rides (300+ miles on at least ONE day a weekend, as well as daily commuting unless it's raining), but I'm finding that as I get more confident, I'm scraping my floorboards more often than not. So I'm thinking I should maybe look towards a sportier bike as an upgrade.
I'm gonna ride this bike for at least a year to save up money and really just make sure I'm in the groove for riding, but I was looking for a sportier, yet very comfortable ride for long distances.
I get the sense from sitting on one that the SV650 would be a cost effective bike that can be used for just about anything. (BTW, I'm 5'4", 165 lbs and won't be carrying passeners often if at all so it just needs to fit and haul around ME).
And of course, the new bandit seems pretty up for it, but won't leave as much $$$ for any mods or luggage or stuff.
I was also wondering your thoughts on buying a used 1200. I can't seem to find any that are less than 5 years old, which leads me to believe people are hanging on to them, which is a +. But I tend to be VERY wary of used products. I just never know how people have treated them.
So if you have any opinions on the three that I've mentioned, or suggestions, please let me know. Thanks!
