I just installed them on my bike last weekend. They are a pain in ass, But well worth it now its done.
I wired them so the little 3 Watt bulbs are on with the running lights, and the Larger 35 Watt upper bulbs are on with the switch on the your right thumb.
My advise is to take your time, yes there are instructions with poor quality pics. If you wire them the way they come, Both upper and Lower bulbs will come on with the thumb switch.
