1157 are the fronts /1156 are the rear. Whatever you get, make sure you order the equivalent set for each.
Well, despite not knowing where you live squale, I'd have to think clear bulbs and lenses combined would be illegal. I know here in NY, aside from the indirect white lighting of the license plate, you can't show any color but amber or red to the rear of a vehicle- and the brake light/running light must be red. Front signals must be amber. And since 1985, all original equipment turn signals on motorcycles are inspectable- meaning if you had them from the factory on an '85 or newer bike, you have to have them currently to pass inspection. See
here for the actual NYS DMV Form MV-529B, EQUIPMENT REQUIRED FOR MOTORCYCLES.
I just realized- per that reg, I'm actually in violation- I have no rear red reflector! However in over a year of riding with the tail mod, I've yet to have any police officer/sheriff's deputy/State Trooper pull me over and ticket me...and the inspection station made no mention of it. Considering I have NO red displayed to the rear when the bike isn't running, I'm sort of surprised (however, I have red LED's in the signals and have them hooked up with a Run/Turn/Brake controller, so when I'm running, all three lights on the back are red, and all three brighten with the brakes). Guess I'll have to get a couple red-dot reflectorized plate bolts...IF some LEO bothers to call me on it!
