I was just about to say that.

When I do a GPS ride its turn by turn instructions that I have already predetermined and downloaded to the gps-r. Using the computer is going to be a boring ride, unless you’re in a hurry to get somewhere and like to count the miles down.

Smurf I think you said it did come with mapping software.

Another cool feature even if you ventured off the path it records where you are, speed, altitude, etc.... When you get home after finding a few new cool roads you can retrack and save those new tracks to maybe add onto a good ride.
