Silly question #1

The only thing that I don't like about the stock exhaust is how far back it goes and how much of the rear tire it conceals. I have seen a lot of info on debaffling and cutting down the stock pipes but...has anyone tried debaffling, cutting down the stock pipes, and then screwing in a different baffle to change the sound?
