Default Gps

I tried searching forums for GPS and Navigation but keep comming up with no matches. May be doing something wrong.
Any way, I have been comparing Garmin / Magellan / TomTom and some other less known brands. The one that I feel will suit me better is the Magellan 4210. (On sale for $199 right now) Most units have many of the same features but the Magellans have a "Least use" or "Most use" of freeways. Does any one know if this feature really works???
Had the opportunity to try out a Garmin the other day and it would not use any two lane roads if an interstate was available. Could only select "Avoid Toll Roads" as an option and it would still run you down the interstate.(At least for the trip out and back)
I am planning a trip to the Black Hills area for early June and would like the convenience of GPS in place of folding and unfolding my map while riding.(Plus--I think it would be kind of fun) Also, I ride an '02 1500 LC. As anyone who has experience with this bike knows that Iv'e gotta get gas about every 100 miles. so the help of finding stations in the area would be great.
I know that this unit is not water proof and may not hold up to vibration on the bike but can't see spending $450 and up for a few times a year use. Most use will be in the car anyhow.
Can anyone tell me if I'm going wrong here??
