Sometimes they make more money on selling the extra warranty than they do on the products. Sales people get an extra bonus for selling the extra warranty. The last time I bought a camera the salesman would not want to shut up about the extra warranty.
I told him: "if I need to buy extra warranty on this thing it must be a bad product."
I walked out. (Future Shop).
Bought the camera at London Drugs instead.
