Just bought a 06 Bonneville T100, Orange and White. I pick it up next week and cant wait.

I'm a new rider and I have what must be the dumbest rookie question ever. When filling up the tank does anyone have good techniques to keep from spilling gas everywhere? I mean I would think there would be no auto shut off like on a car. I just dont want to pull up to the gas station for the first time and begin filling my tank and 30 seconds later end up spewing gas all over my new bike and potentially innocent passerbyes.

It's ok you can laugh at me all you want...as long as after the laughter and pain in your side subside you offer advise.
