I think I tend to care but I'm not paranoid about it.
But when I get back after riding, I always give my bikes a good wipe. We've got these wet bike wipes that are disposable and big enough to clean one bike.

As for cars, they are too big to clean everytime I ride, but I do try to keep them clean.
