I am currently looking into a private sale of a 2002 Intruder 1500 LC. I currently have a Vulcan 800 Classic. To make a long story short... The reason I am considering the 'trade up' is power. I just started riding again after 18 years. The Vulcan suits me fine BUT, my wife has really taken to riding with me. I'm not small (about 250lbs), and she is around 175-200 (I'm guessing, she won't tell me). I am primarily looking at the more power of the 1500. The Vulcan has a mono shock that has been adjusted all the way up. I understand the Intruder has a mono shock also. The Vulcan with both of us on has never bottemed out (and I've hit some nasty holes). It also pulls decent hills in 5th without needing to downshift. I think the under seat tank (of the Intruder) will help keeping the center of gravity low (due to myself and her being bigger), should handle better.

Basically my questions are:

Is the 1500LC mono-shock adjustable and comparable to the 800 Vulcan? (so I can expect not be be bottoming out, rough ride, etc).

I'm just looking for a little more power (with nicer seats) witht the same ride characteristics I have now.
