When I put the sideburners on I ran the bike without a fuel processor. Seemed to run fine but had a lot of backfire. I then installed the cobra fi2000r and no more backfire. The only drawback as I have mentioned in another thread if you install pipes and the fit is not what it should be do not start the bike. The warranty will be void if you do. Take it from me you don't want to have to fight for a substandard product advertised as "the best in the world". So, as natew said it does depend on the pipes you buy. The cobra fuel processor is a lot cheaper than the powercommander and no internet downloads for remapping. Easy install about 45 minutes or so and very good instructions included.
