Look guys I've run plenty of tanks of racing fuel in non racing bikes and my engine certainly didn't blow.
I didn't mean to get into a pissing match here and I only paid $3k for my fancy underpowered bike so slam Ducati's all you want I got a great deal on it and plan on selling it for an extra K next spring and upgrading to a fancier more powerful bike.
My point is simply this, vehicles have minimum ratings, in order to reduce knocks and pings it is typically recommended to move it up an octane level.
If you think someone is stupid for putting premium in their bike you're entitled to your opinion, but don't go telling people it's gonna blow their engine.
