Good God the Heat!! My little weatherbug's chirping at me to tell me that it is a whopping 104 today!!!
Eeyowza.
Due to the low humidity, it doesn't feel as miserable as it should. Memphis is in that latitudinal zone that stays humid a lot of the time. We're at 29% right now, so it actually feels tolerable out there. Friday and onward, our humidity should return to our "normal" range, which is usually >65%, but it'll be "cooling off" to 97 or so.
When you walk outside and feel the wind, it's like a big stinking haridryer aimed at your face. The wind just whips along and strips the heat off of everything, depositing it on your skin.
I remember back in 1980, when we had >100 degree days for over a month. Hot, brother. I was a lot younger then, about 10 I guess. That was one hot summer, but we still carried on business as usual, riding bikes, playing ball, screwing around shooting at one of the many creeks that score the countryside. Those were the days, but I digress . . .
Anyone else getting some bizarre temps in their part of the country?
