Synthetic... Or Not?
Don't know if anyone ever asked this before, but I'm gonna take the chance...
Whenever I changed the oil for my bike, I've always used a synthetic base oil (10W-30). I figured that since older bikes don't have a liquid cooling system, using a synthetic base motor oil would help reduce friction in the engine, and possibly, help keep it running cooler. But someone once told me that it is not wise to use such a product, most especially for the clutches.
So the question here is.... Am I doing wrong by using a synthetic base motor oil for my bike (i.e. Slick 50), or does it not matter?
