I can change my oil for less than $15.........if I change it right before I leave on a trip, it's nothing to change it 3-4 days later when I've gone 1500 miles...........takes me less than 15 min. to change.........OR if I don't feel like changing it, regular oil is good for at least 3,000 miles. The whole smoother shifting thing is, IMHO, you "thinking" that, to justify the $$$$ difference......that said, use whatever YOU like.....I really don't care if someone wants to use synthetic, I just don't think it's "all that". But to each his own, it's your money.
