The simple thing to do would be to remove the thermostat and check for circulation then. Heck, with the thermostat out, remove the top radiator hose and just crank the engine. Coolant should come rushing out.
Also, there is just a slim chance that the radiator could be plugged, but try cranking it over without the thermostat first.
