You might have to get the carb adjusted once every few years, but that's about it, I'd expect. My old Magna had 4 carbs, and I never touched them in the 9 years I owned it.
Fuel injection is easier to use, obviously, but my wife's 750 Aero started immediately when I took it out of winter storage (on a 25 degree day, no less!). Some would say carburation is an advantage because the FI will tend to be all-or-nothing. If something goes wrong in the carb, you have a chance to get it home or to the shop.
