Grace was born on September 4th with a rare and serious Congenital Heart Defect (CHD), Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). She had her 1st open-heart surgery at 6 days old, her 2nd at 5 1/2 months and in October of 2006 underwent her 3rd and hopefully final open-heart surgery.
This police escorted 50-mile ride will raise money for The Grace Alice Campbell Foundation, which helps children and their families treated in the pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Childrens Hospital Boston, and also to fund much needed reasearch for CHD.
Congenital Heart Defects are the nation's #1 birth defect, affecting approximatley 40,000 babies born annual or 1 in every 125 children.
THE GRACE ALICE CAMPBELL FOUNDATION IS A 501 (C) (3) CHARITY. ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE BY EXTENT PERMISSABLE BY LAW.
