An acquaintance tossed me the keys to his 750 Gixxer (a 2000 model, I think) after he finished washing it. He told me to take 'er out and dry 'er off. I did

.
It turned out to be one of my very few squidly moments. As soon as I pulled out onto the highway the bike just begged me to rip (My own bike at the time was an '83 KZ1000J).
I started walking it up through the gears, just keeping the front wheel on the pavement. I realized I was overdoing it for a built up area and rolled off the fun handle. A short pause later and I glanced down at the speedo - I was decelerating through 190 km/h indicated.
On my 1200 Bandit, I sustained 205 - 210 km/h for about 20 minutes. My buddy dropped back on his V-65 Magna.
If roads, wildlife and traffic allowed it - that WOULD be the way to tour. Talk about blowing the dust off the adrenal glands - oh yeah and talk about consuming fossil fuels!!!
