well, everything turned out pretty good. the powder coating tool is pretty darn easy to use, very little mess, and the coating is solid. the pictures show one of the o.e.m. mirrors coated, and a throttle boss.

also since i had the pair valve cover lying around, i tried to see if the "chromed plastic" would hold up during the curing phase. the answer would be no (see pic).
