DON'T TARGET FIXATE. Look where you want to go, not where you DON'T want to go. Don't freak out if you're going to hit a bump while you're in a turn/curve (just keep the throttle and your position steady).
If you can't think of any parking lots near you that get empty, go to the nearest school, after hours and on weekends. Those are great! (I'll have to try SG's cemetary suggestion..
)
Remember S.E.E. (Search Evaluate Execute). Stay in YOUR comfort level, not your friends'.
And last... Grin a lot inside your helmet...Shout a couple of "YEAH!!!'s" when you get that little thrill as you're riding... have fun, and be safe!
