Here you need to be careful where your distributor gets beer from. The time from there to here can affect it, but there are other factors.
I like Carlsburg, one of my favorites. Well, they have breweries around the world. Including Canada and Japan.
Around here they get it from Canada a lot. Well, I only bought it once. First of all they charge the same for it, second it sucks! Not the same beer! So I make sure I get Carlsburg that was brewed on Copehagen, DK only. It is on the box. Don't confuse this with the importer, that will be different.
Sopporo bought in the US is made in California, it is not imported.
The other factor is a lot of European Brewers make their beers a little different for shipment to the US, including Guiness. They may use preservatives or brew just a little longer to keep it from spoiling on the trip over here.
Also, Guiness is a Nitrogen charged beer, so, if you buy it by the can or bottle it is much different than if you get it from a proper Guiness tap.
PHEW, \\\wipes sweat from head///
I love BEER!
