I think you will enjoy Colorado on a bike. The Royal Gorge area is a fun place to ride and a beautiful sight to see. After you do the Gorge, go west on HWY 50. It follows the Arkansas River with lots of twisties. I love riding that road.
You can go west to Salida, north up Hwy 285, then east on HWY 24 back to Colo. Springs. If you are in Colorado Springs, you have to ride through Garden of the Gods. A couple of other things in Colorado Springs to see are Cave of the winds, the zoo, and 7 falls. Also take a ride to Cripple Creek. No matter what direction you get there from, it is good riding.
You can take a map and looked for paved roads through the mountains with curves and it should be good riding. Where are you thinking about staying in Colorado?
