From watching the Falcons swoop over the Hudson River to cruising through phenominal looking farm & horse country. Babbling brooks, raging rivers get traversed via covered bridges filled with charm. The air is sweet and pungent and constantly changing depending on the foilage you're passing.
Additionally...there are all the services you could ever need. Easy access to hotels, B & B's, numerous restaurants, mechanics, etc...
The leaves are just begining to change...it's been wickedly gorgeous!
I'd be more than happy to meet up with you folks...provide history and stuff about the area...make suggestions depending on the need...and of course to ride!! |
I personally wouldn't mind heading that way for a road trip. So are you saying that you could have the means to put this together for next year???
What we would be looking for is some great riding roads with some twisties to keep the fun factor up, scenic views, nightlife, accomodations, and points of interest as well.
The main ride needs to be at least a half day event. Grant the ride we did was about 240 miles long on Saturday and it took about 8 hours or so to complete. I would say that to make a ride worthwhile I would be looking for a nice scenic ride to last about 6 hours at least for myself.
Good suggestion Apertureguy!!!! If you feel like you are up to the challenge come up with a game plan and propose it to everyone. Once we get a few suggestions in we can all vote on it. I think the Catskill mountains might be cool to check out.
