Back in the seat Well after 20 years of not riding because of children, I'm back in the seat again. I think we stop riding because of we think if we die on a bike who will raise these kids. As I look around there are 18 to 25 years old riding those things that look like F4 when I was in Thailand and Old fates like me riding the big curiser.
Well 6 months ago I bought 150CC moped and my reasoning for it was to put around and save on gas. Well that lasted for one month. Next I bought a 1986 Honda Shadow in MINT shape with 5000 on it ( was kept in old man's garage for 16 years) and me and my wife had a fun summer on it. Put 3000 miles on this old machine, even went to Long Island. (If you ever go there bring alot of money.)
Well I sold that last week and bought 1999 Suzuki LC1500 what a jump. The reason I bought that was that women who kept saying no to bikes now is a perament fixture on the back seat. Which I don't mind keeps me out of trouble.
I like to share some my my expernces on my first ride. It was a 231 mile trip which I got about 39 MPG with 310 pounds on this thing (me and my wife).
That's half highways and half back roads. For me being a small person 5'6" 160 pounds the bike is a little hard to handle with that women glued to the back seat. I said the same thing about the Honda at first.
Well before I ast down and wrote this I just ordered a set of handle bar risers because my back is killing me. It seems that for my size I was bending forward alot. Well here is too pictures of my first bikes in 20 years.
This is my first post and I hope I learn alot reading yours posts and coments.
PS I don't have a owners manual but I ordered a shop manual on CD until it gets here does any body know were is the oil fill is. Found the window and found the oil filter.
