I tried doing some medium distance rides (200 Miles) on my sons R6, and it wasn't the riding position that got me so much as it was the harsh suspension. I could deal with the extra pressure on my hands, and arms. Even the sharp bend in the knees was something I could live with, but that suspension was so stiff (@ the softest setting) that I just couldn't ride more than about 50 miles at a time, and that distance would shorten as the day wore on. There are plenty of good sport touring bikes to chose from, they are just as much fun to ride as a full on sport bike, and you will still be able to walk at the end of the day.
