Default Major Trip on Wee Strom

I returned Sunday from a week long trip to the Sturgis area from N.W. Ark. 2761 miles in a week. The bike never missed a beat and was always eager to go every day. I had installed Dan Vesel hiway pegs, Genmar up & back risers, had a Saddleman's Gel seat pad, and used a Kuryakyn Grand Tour bag on the back seat for luggage and backrest. I have the 3 pc Suzuki luggage (which I guess is no longer available). I was one of 5 bikes in our group...2 HD's and 2 Hondas (1800 & 1300). I used less than half the gas of any other bike in the group and had the best handling. Going NW across Neb. we had very strong crosswinds that blew me around some but it was slapping everybody pretty hard. I sure had more fun on Needles Highway than the big cruisers! Bike was very comfortable the whole trip and riding didn't wear me out...Crossing Kansas on the way home in 107 degree temps. did, however. Of course (and to my pleasure) I was one of very few "different" bikes both in SD and on the road and it earned the genuine respect of everyone on this trip.
