As for peg scraping, there's a good, relevant section in David Hough's "Proficient Motorcycling" titled Making Sparks. He suggests increasing the shock pre-load and modifying your cornering lines. Before the M50 I had a Katana, so I was used to a much different cornering technique. I took the suggestions from the book and practiced on a heavily-cambered, ~110 degree, right-hand corner nearby and until I could make it through without scraping the peg. Since those practice sessions, I only scrape a peg when I have a passenger and am loaded down with touring gear.
