I have to admit. I am very disappointed in this forum to this point. I dont know any of the people personally, but just the forum in general is disappointing...so far.

I joined yesterday and spent about 2 hrs last night looking over various threads. The majority of posts arent natured towards giving helpful information and supporting people. Somewhere along the line, in just about every thread...it turns into "you shouldnt have that bike...get something smaller" or it ends up that people start comparing Sport Bikes to Cruisers and saying that people should or shouldnt own one or the other.

I agree, i dont think that somebody should run out and buy a GSX-R1000 for their first bike...but nobody is going to change anybody's mind if it is made up.

IF you HAVE to give your personal opinion, it should be directed more towards something like "well, if you are gonna get that bike...watch out for this" or "they have a tendency to do this when they are new" or "i had mine for 2 weeks and this went wrong" etc.

For instance, the comment above "there are many threads on this...do some researching". In the amount of time it took you to write that, you can have just as easily said "i like the sound of these" or "my buddy has one of these and it is loud".

I have read many threads regarding exhaust and instead of primarily helpful comments, they are primarily "why do you want to do that, i dont like them loud, it is loud enough as is" etc. They didnt ask what you thought about it and i am sure they dont care...they want to know if you have any helpful resources on a custom exhaust...period.

I am not directing this to any individuals, i am merely stating what i have seen so far. I am a long time member of two other forums, GM and Cadillac and they have been very helpful. I am new to the motorcycle world. Well, i have rode dirt bikes etc...but i am new to the Sport bike world. I joined this forum to try to obtain some real world knowledge about my future bike and about riding in general. From what i have seen so far, as soon as i post any question...all i am going to hear is "why are you getting a Gixer?...you should get something smaller" or "Sport bikes are not needed in the city" or "this has already been covered in another thread...go look for it".

I will keep reading previous threads and hopefully things will get better. This is the first impression i have so far.
