Well I went to the Yamaha dealer last night to get tickets to the Supercross races this weekend and they had a VStrom 650 with 1771 miles on it there. It looked to be in perfect condition. I was able to take it for a ride and honestly I have mixed feelings. First it is light and peppy I liked the more upright position but I had trouble finding the rear brake. It honestly did not seem as quick to turn as the M95 does it also didn't seem as solid in the turns, that may be due to the weight difference. Seat height was good and it was easy enough to get used to. Another thing that bothered me was that there seemed to be more weight on my hands and after a short time my palms were hurting. The windscreen was fine at highway speeds and it runs fast, I was doing 100 before I knew it. I also had to get used to the difference in rpm range and the cruising rpms. On take offs from lights it seemed a little jerky. While doing some quick take offs on a back road I was able to get the front wheel off the ground not far but I wasn't trying to wheelie it either. Some of these issues I know would go away with more riding time the others would have to be dealt with the biggest being the pain in the hands.
