A short review of my 10 year old First Gear / Hein Gericke Leather jacket. 10 Years ago I purchased this puppy in SoCal for $485
at a local 3 letter motorcycle dealer. It's been worn for both motorcycle and social use pretty consistently for the past ten years.
"Oldschool" traditional styling. . . Combined with the protection that quality leather gives you in the event you end up sliding
along on the pavement wondering WTF?
FEATURES:
Lots of pockets
(12 in all)
2 Large Zipper outside chest area,
2 Medium Snap outside,
1 zipper pocket inside of the front overflap,
1 zipper pocket on the inside of the jacket,
6 more pockets inside the chest flap pockets,
Rear vents
(zippered) and "trick" outer wrist vents
(see Pix).
CONTRUCTION:
Thick leather
(1.75mm),
Extra leather and padding in shoulder area,
Quality snap fasteners and YKK zippers.
Zip off colder weather collar,
Snap in quilted cold weather liner with a velcro closure neck warmer integral.
WEAK POINTS:
Not waterproof
(Guess that's why I bought that Marsee "adventure jacket").
Heavy
(1.75mm "premium" leather)
After ten years of use I pulled the lower outside snap fastener and the leather tore.
The sum total of repairs in 10 years of use. . .

10 Years and still hanging in there. . . .
