The one thing I added that really makes it work flawlessly is a Foggy Mask for those cool, damp mornings when fogging is a problem. Also, you can't beat Shoei's system for changing shields. If you can't do the whole operation in 20 seconds or less, you should never be allowed to handle anything sharper than a twinkie.
I ordered the RF1000 from Helmet City and got it in 2 days. Perfect fit. I guess I've got a Shoei shaped head. As all those who have them have said, ventilation and noise damping is outstanding. You can actually feel the cool air circulating around your head. The aerodynamics show the results of actual research in that buffeting is really minimized. As Old n Slow mentions, the visor attachment is so easy and robust. It's the same as the old RF700. That's one thing that kept me from considering the KBC..I asked the salesman to demonstrate it and it not only looked flimsy, it broke. I was amazed at how much lighter the RF1000 is vs the RF700. Technology I suppose. Yes, you pay a little more for a Shoei but the value is there. Overall I'm very satisfied.
