I agree, but I do believe a standard would be nice to gauge the value of my dollar when purchasing gear. A standard would also provide some data to make an informed decision as to what I buy(amnt of protection to cost ratio). I am buying it for both protection and performance, where some may buy simply for looks.

anyone else think this way?
