OK, in an effort to keep the Harley board alive...
I found an old Harley centerstand off a 1950-something Duo-Glide, and with a little modification to the frame I made it fit my 1979 FLH-80. I'm guessing it could be fitted to ANY Harley FL-frame bike. Might be able to fit it to a 1500LC Intruder or similar metric bike also.
The ACE hardware provided some brass bushings, and some 4.5-inch long 3/8-24 grade 8 shoulder bolts. Total cost about $45 including the stand and having it coated black.
WOW! Is this handy! It has been 20 years since I had a bike with a center stand. Adjusting and lubing the drive chain, cleaning the rear wheel, changing a tire, or even just washing the bike is SOOOOOO much easier with the bike sitting level on the center stand. Why oon Earth did they ever stop putting these on bikes?
Folded, you can;t even see it.
Up on the stand it is very stable. Putting it on the stand is actually a lot easier than I expected.
