Harsh, but true. A GSXR or anything over 500cc's is definetly not a beginner bike. Even 500cc's is cautioned against for most beginners, but still seems to be the most popular choice.

Not only are they all probably too powerful. They are all probably a bad first bike because of price. Imagine spending all that cash on a new 06' bike, and wrecking it out right. Not to mention, if you aren't paying in cash/upfront your insurance is going to be more expensive due to financing. Some insurance companies won't even cover you if you finance.
